Route: Navi Mumbai INDIA –  Ratnagiri INDIA – Chiplun INDIA (2 night) – Navi Mumbai INDIA

Traveling Method & Time:

Navi Mumbai – Ratnagiri= by car (≈ 12 hours)

Ratnagiri – Chiplun = by car (≈ 4 hours)

Chiplun – Navi Mumbai = by car (≈ 9 hours)

Details:

 Ratnagiri, a port town in the southwestern part of Maharashtra, India. The distance between Ratnagiri and Navi Mumbai was about 400km but it took us 10 hours just to get there by car, imagine that! Imagine slow moving and overloaded lorries trying to overtake each other, imagine bullock-carts blocking half of the road, imagine people coming out of nowhere and suddenly run across the road, imagine dead dogs and wild boars lying in the middle of the road, imagine everything that you can ever imagine that had caused us our precious, precious time!

Ratnagiri is a small town and had an even distribution of Hindus and Moslems populations. It was quite disappointing though for not being able to find a good hotel there. We thought of staying there for another night but looking at how small and lonely the town was, we thought, well… probably not this time.
