Raigad Fort : King ofthe Forts

Raigad Fort, Many peoples must have heard about this place. This beautiful place is located near to Mumbai and Pune City and a good weekend gateway for all. Tough a short trip of an one day is enough to cover this place , still if someone are a true nature lover , it is recommended for one night stay at the top of the fort.

Myself and my friend Ajinkya , both of us had decided to explore some place as it was pick of Monsoon season. Raigad Fort was the place , which comes suddenly in my mind as we were always wished to visit this place from a very long time.

After Freezing the visiting venue , me and my friend have started the journey by train in general compartment as it was a last moment planned trips and booking was not being done in advance. Somehow we have manged to catch the only train which was scheduled to arrive at 12.10 AM from Surat Railway station and got a sit to get relaxed. We reached at Roha Station , 7 in the morning and rain was continued there. The weather was awesome. We knew that we are going to enjoy there.

After coming out from station campus , we catch a Auto to the Mahad. We had some breakfast and Tea at Mahad and we after inquiring to the locals , we got to know that we have to wait for ST bus which will take us to the Fort. Finally bus arrived and we started for the Fort. That was took a almost 40 mins to reach out there. After reaching there , we found there is 2 options to reach to the top of the fort which are either by treking or by Udan Khatola. We opted for Udan Khatola as we had finalized returned back by walks so we took a ticket of Udan Khatola. Folks , belive me it was a really worth it and view was breathtaking. You can see the waterfalls all around while you are heading for the top of the hill.
