As the rainy season approaches, everyone in Mumbai eagerly waits for chai, hot pakodas and monsoon trips! If you think monsoon is not a good time to travel then that's not entirely true, with the right precautions you can enjoy nature at its best.
After deciding for weeks, we finally decided to spend the first monsoon of the year in the hills of Neral which is nearby Matheran. We went by the roadway with a perfect rainy drive and reached the resort to freshen up.
We then left for the nearby falls (around 15 min by car) also called as Jummapatti or Matheran falls. While reaching the falls, the road was really pretty with greenery on both sides.
After visiting falls we went back to the resort, had lunch and chilled by the poolside. In the evening, we took a walk to the nearby dam adjoining a village.
The walk was fun with a little upward hill area near the dam from where we could see the foggy hills and it offered a good view.
On the way back, we saw the cute village houses and cattle along with lots of greenery.
We ordered hot pakodas and tea after reaching the resort to complement the weather and played a few games, had late dinner which was quite tasty accompanied by a karaoke at the resort. We shared lots of horror stories at night, left early the next morning and ended the short but sweet monsoon trip with lots of memories.
