Our journey started at 3:30am in the Morning with my friends.
Basically It is Mahakaleshwar situated in Ujjain, MP and it is the Holiest place of Hindu, also One of Twelve Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva. In MP there are two Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva one is at Ujjain and another is 125km away from Ujjain that is Omkareshwar, Khandwa, MP.
Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga is surrounded by holly water of Narmada River.
So our plan is to go for both Jyotirlinga and explore the nearby places in two days. So we started our journey according to that. The distance between Nashik to Ujjain is 460km so it took us near about 8-9hrs to reach at Ujjain. There is no proper hotels for anything like food, stay, etc. If you want to go Ujjain from Maharashtra then do breakfast, lunch, dinner before crossing Dhule.
After reaching Ujjain we parked our vehicle and then went for Darshan, ait took 30min to complete Darshan. Then we started exploring Market and Nearby Place of Temple. After taking Prasad we went to Shri Kalbhairav Temple it's 8km away from Ujjain. At this Temple devotees used to offer liquor to lord Kalbhairav as per traditional rituals.
After that we started our journey to next Jyotirlinga which is Omkareshwar. But crossing Indore city in evening time is kind of hectic because of traffic so we found alternate way to Bypass Indore going through nearby villages. After joining Highway again we started looking for hotel to have food. So my friend suggested to go at VIRREDE DHABA which is 25km away from Indore. Best hotel all over the highway after Dhule. So we did dinner there.
Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga is 70km away from that Hotel n Highway. But roads conditions are too bad and it was heavily raining there due to which there's no clear visibility. This 70km was bad patch of journey which took 4:30to reach at Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. At 11:30pm we searched a hotel cost 600 for night stay. And this is how our 1st day ended.
Our day again started at 5:30Am, we went for Darshan. For Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga we have to cross the suspension bridge by walk. Because the temple is on the Hill. And the hill is located in the holy water of Narmada River. From all the sides the hill is covered by water so suspension bridge or by boat is only options to reach temple. In 30min we completed our Darshan and then clicked some pics of river and bridge as you see below. Then we planned to return journey towards Nashik. Which was near about 400+km. So while returning we did breakfast near to Khandwa. And from here Mumbai-Agra Highway was 20-30km away so we reached to highway. But it was too early if we came back home. So started thinking about nearby places to visit and suddenly i got to know that my friend suggested me about one historical place called Maheshwar Fort, Located on Bank of Narmada. Also this place is of Ahilyabai Holkar's Kingdom. But this place was 45km away from us. And had to go by same route from which we already come. So we thought about not to go there but after researching on YouTube and Google we decided to go and look.
We Reached Maheshwar Fort near about 9:30Am,
And then started exploring it. So firstly we saw the Ahilyabai Holkar's Palace. Which was pretty impressive and after that we went to Maheshwar fort which is next to Holkar's Palace. This Maheshwar Fort is well known in Film industries many movies were shot over there. And it actually have that much quality, the best example of Ancient India, Art, Hand Art art on pillars, rocks Floors,Roof, fountain on floors everything is just amazing. If you go at any corner of this fort you'll be amazed because of the carved structure. As you can check in photos, The Fort actually has Lord Shiva Temple. After watching such beautiful ancient structure we felt better. And this place is located On Bang of Narmada River which increases more freshness and energy for visitors in it. We almost spent 3hrs over there and clicked photos of self and the Art.
And then our Return journey started. We reached at Nashik at 7:30Pm with lots of unforgettable memories. This was the best experience.
Thank you Tripoto for this platform.
