“Train journey from Nashik to Chennai is a most pleasant experience. The journey has always been more memorable than the destination. We forget track of time when we’re both together. We ate meals provided by our mother in the train, listened to a lot of music, spoke for hours, and made a lot of plans before arriving in Chennai after 22 hours at 4:30 p.m.”
Chennai: Stayed 1 Day & First Impression
As we approached the Central Railway Station in Chennai. The first thing that hits us is how huge it is — we had imagined Chennai to be considerably smaller than it is. We were hauling approximately 30 kg of luggage. It was difficult since we were having a lot of difficulties. We reserved a room solely for the purpose of planning and rest. The next day, we wandered around Chennai’s streets. While wandering the streets of Chennai, we saw that there is a lot of poverty in such a major city because there are so many baggers.
When an old lady saved us.

While walking down the street, one man approached us and attempted to be friendly. He began to inquire as to why and what you guys were doing. What country are you from? Are you an adventurer? He began to tell us about himself, saying, “I am a solitary traveler.” etc. He also offered us a job as a radio jockey. Suddenly, a lady approached us and tried to tell us that this man was inebriated. She requested that we relocate. As we sat in one spot, she began to express her affection and concern. We were awestruck and felt emotional as we took a selfie with her, which she had requested.

We took off from at Chennai 5:30PM and arrived to Kancheepuram after 3 hours. It was dark by then but we could tell that we had entered into city of temples.

Please share your thoughts about our journey to Kancheepuram. We will post about our visit to the Ekambaranathar Temple (Earth Element Temple) in our next blog entry. Which is among the Five elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Space, Air).
