We had planned this 1 day trip from Pune to Nasik on weekend. We had 3 places on points to cover in this trip. SULA vineyard, Gondeshwar Temple and Trimbakeshwar. So this was our bike ride. We called the SULA and confirmed the time and whether it was open due to lockdown situation in the state. Yes,we went there in mid of March 21. A reassurance check ! So we left Pune like a rooster at 4 am early morning to cover max distance before the sun hits its extremity. We haulted for half an hour at Kamath restaurant on the way. A must break for stretching and getting fresh. We left for the ancient temple near Sinnar named as Gondeshwar Temple. The temple is on the outskirts of the village. After reaching ,we acknowledged that the temple is closed due to covid crisis. But then few cyclist suggested us to go by walk through the compound wall and reach to the back of the temple where the wall is fallen and you can climb the wall easily and visit so as temple is beautiful from inside. And as we have traveled so far on bikes we did do the same by telling the same to a young priest there. The temple is carved from pinnacle to bottom just like ellora caves near Aurangabad. This is a lord Shiva temple and the carvings dictate the story lines around lord Shiva. You can see shiv Ling in the inmost division. There are other few structures around the temple with their own specialities. The young priest there explained to us about the temple and the structural meaning of all small parts. After getting few pictures and spending there time for around 1 hour we left to Nasik city. Nasik is 30 kms from this place. And so we reached nasik around 11 am and so the next thing we did was check into hotel. Checking in the hotel we had good lunch and took some rest as we had planned to go to SULA in the evening as they say this place is pleasant at that time. So after resting, we reached SULA by 5pm . There is a ticket for 600Rs per person for Touring and Tasting. As we all are non alcoholic, we used the same wine tasting amount in eating the breakfast in eve. So the place is very colorful 😍 they have themed decor and plants,u can go on clicking photos on every single spot. You can find a sunflower garden and also of course grape yard. You have to book the slot for Tourinv session of wine factory. So ours was at 6.30 pm. We had some light snacks ,clicked some cool pics and left for the touring session. Now,here they show you the grapes ,from where they get them ,the huge storage funnels for fermentation, the basic knowledge about the grape fermentation and the next step they take you to the refrigeration system where they keep the wines in barrels and over all how this works. And last part is the exciting part which is wine info and tasting. After that we shopped few accessories and some wine for our friends as a souvenirs. By 8 pm we went back to our hotel and that was the end of the day.
Day 2,early morning we reached trimbak by 7 am. Saw the pleasant morning sunrise on the bank of river Godavari. We visited temple as it was open for some limited time only. So we shortly visited the temple ,had sabudana wada asa breakfast which is renowned here, and left for our return journey back to Pune.
