Our Journey started from Andheri, we had hired a private bus for 4 days to visit these Hill stations Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar. It took almost 6 hours for us to reach our villa. We had booked a villa called Barquat Villa which can accomodate 25, we were 18. This beautiful, clean and airy villa became a memorable part of our trip. To make our trip less expensive, we hired a cook for homemade food. After freshning up and having some delicious home cooked food we visited a resort called Panchgani Health Resort to meet our friends, and even though we did not stay here, I would like to say that the place was amazing. The view from here was spell-bounding, krishna valley flowing calmly surrounded by the beautiful hills covered with fog and the sky painted with various shades of orange as it was time for sunset. The weather was so cool even in the month of May that we were happy to have come to this location.
Our First morning in Panchgani, started off early at around 5.00 Am. Excited to explore the historical side, we left for pratapgad Fort. We reached the location in around 1.5 hrs. Hiring a guide is always a good idea, to get indepth knowledge about the architechture and history. The fort was absolutely magnificiant. Each and every corner had an interesting story. After having some refreshments we came back. we had a relaxing evening later, at venna lake which was so peaceful, a real stress buster , must go for boating. I also tried some yummy corn cutlets which you will find alot here, as corn is locally grown everywhere.
Last day in this beautiful place, morning started with visit to the mahabaleshwar temple. Its old and has its own charm. Scanning all the small stalls around we took our blessing and a trip without shopping would be incomplete so we went to the famous mahabaleshwar market, shopped for the kolhapuri chappals which are a speciality, some sweets. I finally had the glass of mango ice cream with cream which is also one of the specialities. It was heavnly. The next stop was mapro garden which has all these stuff like unique flavored squash, jellies, chocolates, jams. Its a nice place to see as well as shop for these things. Lastly we went to see some points, which give you breath-taking views. Its called kate point, needle point, Elephants head point. All this in summer season without a drop of sweat. What more could you ask for!
The day ended with our family having a warm bonfire in that chilling weather, singing songs and taking back amazing memories forever❤️
