"If you don't ride in the rain, you don't ride at all" and it makes perfect sense to biker like me who loves to travel and find new places which can be enjoyed to fullest.
Monsoon season in Mumbai is all about Lonavala or Igatpuri where you can drive / ride to and enjoy fog, hot tea, poha or maize :)
However, you don't need to go too far from Mumbai to enjoy unadulterated nature, just hop onto your bike or car and head towards "Chota Morbe" (yeah there is an actual big morbe dam on old mumbai pune NH4 road). This place is also good for a weekend drive in winters

Google the location and you will be taken to correct spot. Please note, once you start nearing Morbe dam, road will become tricky as it is still a village road. You will not get any refreshments at the dam itself or nothing is nearby. Please plan properly and carry essential stuff with you. The dam is situated beyond the Morbe village and serves as a place to pursue fishing and other activities by villagers
The place is being ruined by rouge elements (by rouge i mean people who care less for nature and pollute it) and you might find hard drink bottles, wafer packets and other non degradable stuff lying around. The villagers take lot of pride in the nature and try to keep it clean.
Pictures should help you decide if it is worth the trip
Please make sure you carry your waste with you and dispose off responsibly. There could be police patrolling the area as you are not supposed to go down the hillock to view the falls.

Travel & cost from various locations
From Mumbai or thane one can get off at Panvel station or Kharghar or Mansarovar and manage from there. You will not get a direct bus or direct rickshaw to this place. Best advised is get your own car / hire a cab / own bike
By Bus you can get down at Taloja flyover or Kamothe circle and manage from there.
