"LONAR LAKE"Masterpiece of Maharashtra

*Just visited Lonar Lake and get surprised to know that it's worlds 4rt,3rd in Asia, and Indias 1st largest crater Lake created by collision of MATERIORITE on the BESALTIC ROCK (in Lonar )with very high velocity.
*Its only 150 kms from Aurangabad and 3hrs duration.Its one of "National Gioheritage Monument Site".
*Previously it is thought that its 52000 years old but now it's proved that its 576000 years old Lake.
*Its vircumference is 6kms from the rim and 4kms at the center.Its depth is 490 feet.
*Geologists,Ecologists,Archiologists,Naturalists and Astronomists make many researches on Lonar Lake.
*Its water is 7 times more saltier than the sea water.
*It is founded by British officer Alexander in 1823.
*In epic stories it is said that Bhagwan Vishnu killed the demon named LAVANASUR here so the name given to this Lake as LONAR.
*From my place it's 250 kms and return it's 500kms.Better enjoyed in one day trip or can take one stop at Aurangabad.
       *The Lake water changes it's colour from green to pink due to fungus and Algae present in it.
