It was a Sunday morning and was thinking plan for the day during breakfast. With monsoon at its best, what would be a better plan than visiting a waterfall nearby. Had some nearby options in mind and thought let's move out without wasting further time.
We started at 9 and took Karjat train. Being monsoon and long weekend the train was super crowded. There are various options to visit on Karjat or kasara route in Central line. There is a train every hour for Karjat. One can check the timetable and plan accordingly. We got down at Bhivpuri railway station. Bhivpuri is a station after Neral and before Karjat.
we reached Bhivpuri around 10.45. There are various stalls for having tea and snacks. Walking 2 mins straight from station we reached main road. Asked locals for direction. Left from the station road was another waterfall. Even autos were available to drop near that fall. Straight road takes to dam and trek from there takes to another waterfall. Dam plus waterfall looked interesting option and on Walking for further 15-20 mins we reached Dhom dam. Dhom lake provided heavenly look. Clean and clear water surrounded by greenery all over.
We relaxed for some time enjoying the beautiful scenery and inhaling the fresh air. One could enjoy tea or corn 🌽 sold by the locals. Captured some beauty in our cells and eyes.
A walk of further 45 mins along the river took us to the beautiful Diksal waterfall. We passed through several small streams along the way. It is an easy trek which can be taken with kids. Only be careful for some slippery areas. On the way to Diksal witnessed this small waterfall
One can also trek to Garbett plateau from here and reach Matheran. We walked till Diksal falls. Rappelling is being carried at this waterfall
After enjoying for some time, we returned back to station around 3 pm and boarded 3.35 train from Bhivpuri
How to reach from Mumbai
Catch Karjat local and get down at Bhivpuri. Walk for an hour to reach the falls
One can travel via car or bike as well. The vehicle can be parked at nearby village
