Mahuli fort is the tallest hill of thane district with an elevation of 2815 feet..Mahuli fort has a great importance in the book of history it was built by the mughals in 1485 A.D under the nizamashahi rule..shivaji raje took this fort from mughals on 8 jan 1658.In 1661 it was given back and won again by the marathas.however in 1665 this fort was lost once again by shivaji raje..
