Devkund Waterfall - Not hidden anymore

At the entrance you have to register your name, phone number and count of group members. This is because of the many accidents taken place in the past. It is about a three hours trek through the forest. In most part of the trek, river flows parallel to you and some time crisscross you. Because of the monsoon the land was covered with bright green grass, hills were covered with greenery and some hills were hidden in mist and fog. In many blogs I have read that Devkund fall is an easy trek, but I didn't feel so, the last 1 hour trek is really tough, the path was through dense forest and it was slippery due to rain.

Due to weekend the place was crowded. Not crowded I would say overcrowded. There were so many people that at some place traffic got stuck. One question here - How do you come to know that you are near to a waterfall? The answer is simple - As you come closer to a waterfall the sound of falling water increases. But here we came to know that we are closer by the scream of the public. Yes, I am not exaggerating, it was like the same sound which you can hear at the cricket stadium. The thought that I won't be able to witness this place same as I have first seen it in pictures was making me feel disappointed.

Finally after struggling with the muddy path and climbing big and small stones we witnessed this amazing waterfall. I almost forgot about the crowd when I looked at the fall. It was beautiful. Now I understood why theses people were shouting so loud. First, we just dipped our feet in water and sat there for a while. But that was not enough and we jumped in the pool. Though there were many people in the pool, but we made our space and enjoyed a lot.

When we get tired of taking dips inside water, we decided to go closer to the waterfall. The water splash coming from the fall was so strong that it was hurting us. At 3:30 PM we decided to leave this place. When we crossed all stones and came to pathway it was all flooded with water. It was very risky and we helped each other in making our way back to the Village. Some people were in so much hurry that they were not even considering others. It was not even in their mind that their hurry can become a pain for others. Anyways, we stayed together and trekked back to the village. it was 6:30 PM by then.We were really hungry by that time, but managed to control to reach some good nearby food place. We had a tasty dinner there and some nice tea. It was little relaxing.

Devkund Fall is a real beauty, but this place is overcrowded in monsoon. The trek is not an easy one. You need good gripping shoes and keep a water bottle and something to eat as you won't be getting any shop. Be safe as the path is little risky during monsoons.
