After reaching the resort and looking at the view from our rooms I already thought that I didn't make a mistake. Here is a capture from our room.
The first thing we did was dump the luggage in the room and went straight into the sea. The beach is considerably clean and almost deserted. U can just sit there and gaze into the vast monster for hours.
Even in the night a long walk alongside the shore was mesmerizing.
Malvani cuisine is a must have for people who can accommodate different kind of food. Not for all.
Next morning was the scuba diving plan. We got the concerned person in the resort itself. And left for the location via boat from the resort's beach area. (Advisable to have bfast 1.5 hours before departure). We left at 11 am. The depth was 18-20 ft. Visibility might not be in the tenfolds of meters as in Andaman/Mauritius or the equivalents of these places but was clear enough to see till 7-8 meters. The people were very co-operative and spend more than usual time expected on a person. Proper training was provided and me being a hydrophobic and a non swimmer didn't face any difficulty in the time span of 10-15 mins under water.
The sea life is beyond words to explain. One has to experience it. Videos and pics are taken by the crew itself and handed on the same day(ShareIt app).
After coming back and resting for an hour it was time to visit the Sindhudurg fort built by Shivaji to cope with the Portuguese navy. A beautiful fort with walls around an entire island. 8 kms from our resort and a 2 km boat ride. The walkway on the wall covering the entire island is an experience in itself.
P.S: Came back, had ice cream on the way, left my wallet there, remembered while trying to donate money in a Shiva temple, went back, thanked the person, not important.
Early morning the next day (6:30) was supposed to be dolphin sighting and water sports at the tsunami island. Best chance to sight them is leave as early as possible. Starting on a boat through a bed of seagulls we caught glimpses of around 10-15 dolphins from a little far away. Water sports include kayaking, snorkelling, parasailing, banana ride, dolphin ride etc.
We left around 1 pm from the resort.

Having been to Goa the previous month itself, I wasn't in the mood of any beach getaway to be frank. But being forced and convinced by frnds that it will be worth a getaway and light on pocket too, I agreed.
I travelled by bus to kolhapur from Bangalore by volvo which is a 9 hour journey. One can also reach Goa (Vasco) from where it's a 3-4 hours drive. Train is also available. We decided to meet at kolhapur ( Hyderabad to kolhapur is also 9-10 hours by volvo) where we had a friend coming from pune to pick us all up.
Kolhapur to Tarkarli is 160 kms but it takes 4+ hours because of narrow roads and dowhill ghat drive. There is a good sunset point on the way if u are travelling in the evening. We missed it as we started at 10:30 am from Kolhapur.
