Nestled amidst the Sahyadri ranges of Maharashtra, Varandha Ghat stands as a testament to nature's awe-inspiring beauty and raw grandeur.
It cuts the Sahyadri range to join Bhor to Mahad and is one of the routes between Konkan and Pune.
The Journey:
Started of from Pune by road early morning, go by bike or car to fully enjoy your freedom to explore this place and view points.
Lots of vehicle hiring options in Pune per hour/day wise if you don't have one. It takes about 2 hr 30 min (107.8 km) from Pune. So by late evening/night you can hit back to Pune.
Its famous for its winding roads that snake through the Ghats. It known as snake ghat road of Maharashtra.
So its drive full of adventure and risk due to landslide prone area which needs quite some good driving skills. You can never know what wonders await you around the next bend as came across so many occurred landslide zone with big rocks lying on the road side adding another level of thrill of how glorifying yet unpredictable nature can be.
The road condition were moderate to poor at present thou its off monsoon season, yet filled with lush greenery and mesmerizing ghat views.
As you ascend higher into the ghats, the panoramic views of the valley below leave you spellbound, reminding you of just how insignificant we are in the grand scheme of nature. Along with magnificent view point of Nira Deoghar Dam and tasty local food restaurants inbetweens.
During the monsoons cascading waterfalls punctuate the landscape, walking/driving through fogs adds a touch of ethereal beauty to the surroundings.

The gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze the views of blue sky's with clouds passing by and green valleys and mountains create a tranquil atmosphere that calms the soul and rejuvenates the spirit.
