Kihim Beach Reviews

I did not wish to stay in the main market area I was looking at something peaceful. After connecting with the locals there I decided to head to the KihimBeach and after walking a few places I stumbled upon a cute holiday home called Aarhaah. Nothing fancy but quaint and tucked away in the bylanes it gave me what i wanted - a home away from home. Lucky enough to get a room I was all set to begin a weekend of doing nothing. Beach walks, forts, cool winds, rains, books, hammocks and the quiet lanes were all so charming. Sometimes you don’t need to travel far away to unwind, the places closest to you offer serenity. I truly believe…the sand may brush off, the salt may wash clean, the tans may fade…but the memories live on forever
Its a quite village that has a huge beach hence the name Kihim beach. This village is located in Alibaug which is 2 hours and 50 mins drive from Mumbai but since we drove from Lonavala to Alibaug it took lesser time. We stayed in a Friend's farmhouse but there are many guesthouses there at very reasonable price. For food we had we availed the service of this really amazing tai who cooked the most delicious feast for us. We just provided her with the freshest catch i.e fishes and prawns. There is not much one can do at this place but thats exactly what you need sometimes, to sit still and listen to the waves crashing against the rocks and walk on the moonlit beach, it was surreal!
This beach will attract all the water lovers as many water sports activities can be done here. The beach is surrounded by coconut trees and flowers. The colorful butterflies creates an imagery of many colorful kites flying in the sky. You will be amazed by the variety of birds found here. Various kind of water sports activities including Banana boat ride which is connected to a Jetski and has the capacity of accommodating 8 people. The boat is similar in shape of a banana. Other activities like Paracilling and Bumper ride can also be done. It is really fun for people who enjoy speed.
Kihim beach is closer to Mumbai than Alibaug. You just have to get into the ferry from Gateway of India to Mandwa , then take a bus to Alibaug between you will find this hidden gem.The area is dotted with trees and wildflowers. Beautiful migratory and resident birds also make their way to the Kihim beach and are found in abundance here.
