Hello Tripotoians, welcome to my new write up! In this article, I am going to bring out the staple food of Madurai- Paratha. In every street, you can find one or the other dish made of Paratha! Infact, Madurai is the only Indian city where Maida Paratha is taken for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner. Come, join me in the magical food journey!
Maida Paratha:
Where to get: Every corner of Madurai
Costs: Rs. 10/- per piece with unlimited sides
Mutton Curry Paratha:
Where to get: Every corner of Madurai
Cost: Rs. 100/- per plate.
As a habitual foodie, I can just eat two pieces and my appetite is satisfied. This is a dish where mutton is mashed up and added with omelette. This combination is later stuffed into Paratha and served.
Balloon Paratha:
Where to get: Every corner of Madurai
Costs: Rs. 10/- per piece.
As the name suggests, this paratha will be like a balloon. Looks like a bulged structure, this paratha will get softened once the air inside is thrown out.
Chilli set paratha:
Where to get: Every corner of Madurai
Costs: Rs.60/- per plate
This paratha has mashed chilli with egg fry in it.
Aloo Paratha:
Where to get: Every corner of Madurai
Costs: Rs.60/- per plate
This paratha has in mashed aloo in it. When inquired with the Master, he stated that they mashed the aloo first. Then, they mix them with parathas and mash them again.
Egg Paratha:
Where to get: Every corner of Madurai
Costs: Rs.60/- per plate
This paratha has in mashed eggs in it. You have a variety of sides to this. But a side called 'Salna' is my pick.
Veechu Paratha:
Where to get: Every corner of Madurai
Costs: Rs.15/- per piece
This paratha is an elongated version of maida paratha. Paratha will be in the size of 'Dosa' and hard as paratha.
