A Elephant Calf

Gradual sloping green hills, so smooth that it can soothe your mind right at first sight. Visual Rejuvenation! We took a overnight bus from Bangalore on a Friday night and and arrived Coorg at Dawn. Mild mist stuck in the planes between the hills welcomed us, and so did the freshly brewed coffee at our hotel.

Our day started with Namdroling Monastery. As a child, my parents never imposed any religion on me and I have always had an option to explore all religions. I fancied Buddhism the most, and visiting this monastery was a big leap to me choosing to be a Buddhist. later, ofcourse Ladakh Monasteries were bewildering, but, this was my first baby step towards buddhism.

Then, we took a long drive to Talakaveri, Considered to be the geographical source of the River. There's a Temple built on the hill-top to mark the same. It's a little more chilly than Madikeri district due to the altitude of the place. From the temple, there's a flight of about 300 stairs that reach upto a peak. T wide view from there is worth the climb.

Nisargadhama Kodagu, literally translates to Nature Park. thre's a wire bridge to get there and then you walk through a thick green cover. You can spot a lot of birds and on the way there are swings, tree houses till you reach on the end with caged deers. The population of deers is pretty good. And there are trays of cucumbers available for buying to feed them.

Abbey Falls, a waterfall in laps of a Coffee estate. It's a long walk downhill from the main road and you've to follow the sound of splashing pouring water to get there. The walk through the greens is as pleasurable as the sight of the falls. Do try different varieties of coffees served at the spot.

To grab some local meals, try this restaurant. Pork Vindaloo is typically famous there. I do not eat port and I tried the mutton version of it. The fish stew and wine was delicious too. Vindaloo is typically consumes with Chilled Beer.
