Day 1 - Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga
Our journey began from bhopal at 5 am as we booked the cab already for 2 days. We were 5 people. We reached ujjain at 9 am. We went to lord Shiva for blessings .The place was crowded with the devotees from all around India and after doing darshan from inside we went in the corridor .The Mahakal lok corridor, which is surrounded by the old rudrasagar lake .There are 108 ornate sandstone pillars in a row in the corridor with the trishul design on top and various mudras of lord Shiva etched on the pillars depicting Anand Tandav swaroop ( dance form) .
After doing darshan around 1 pm we had our lunch then we went to kal bhairava temple.Bahirava is believed to have been a fierce manifestation of lord Shiva and kall bhairava is the most sacred among 8 bhairava. The temple enshrines a Shiva Linga opposite nandi the bull which during Mahashivratri draws thousands of devotees to this religious site.
There are a lot more temples in ujjain to visit. As we were running out of time because we have to reach the omkareshwar on the same day.so we left for omkareshwar around 4:30 pm.By 8 pm we were in omkareshwar as roads were not so good and construction going on.We tried to book our stay at Shree Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan as there is no advance booking. One need to go to reception and check if rooms are available .Best place to stay in Omkareshwar . Because of the weekend and evening that place was completely occupied. We couldn't stay there. After that we had our dinner then booked a hotel which cost us Rs1300 a room(three or 4 people can stay in a room).
Day 2 - Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga
The next morning we went to Omkareshwar at 7 am which was 1 km far from our hotel stay. The temple is situated on mandhata or shivpuri island on the banks of narmada and kaveri river.we went inside the temple and took blessings of lord Shiva .The place was again crowded with devotees .
Omkarewhwar is formed by the sacred river Narmada .This is one of the most sacred rivers in India and is now home to one of the world's largest solar power plants. The island is 4 km long and 2.6 km can be approached by boats.
We booked a boat and went to Mamleshwar mandir and also saw the sangam between kaveri and narmada ji river.
