Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world. - Gustave Flaubert
Life has been rough lately. Days have been draining, emotionally and mentally.
Last Saturday something happened that changed my perception of life. The incident made me realize that life is too short to drain yourself. So, chin up, pack a bag, and travel.
And I did.
I packed my bag, took two of my friends and went to Nahargarh Fort.
Read the blog to know more about it.
My trip began as visit to my to Amer Palace, which is 11KM away from Jaipur. Amer Fort is a place of serenity and royalty. While some say, the palace was built by Meenas and later on it was ruled by Raja Man Singh, the other say, the city of Amer was settled by Meenas. Located high on a hill , it is one of the most attractive tourist spot. The major source of water for Amer is Maota lake.
I took a cab to Amer and it costed me 250 INR. On your journey, you will se spots like Hawa Mahal, badi choupad, and Jal Mahal.
How To Reach Amer Fort :
Nearest Airport : 19.2 KM
Nearest Railway Station : 12.2 KM
Distance From Jaipur To Amer : 11Km
Ticket Prices

The fort is filled with grandness and beauty. Take Jeep rides, elephant rides, visit the temple inside the fort and make the most out of trip.
My next stop was Nahargarh fort.
Nahargarh fort stands on the edge of Aravalli hills. The fort was originally known as Sundershangarh. The fort is known for the sunset and sunrise point and usually perceived as great place for trekking. Although, the fort also has a Restaurant named Padao.
The mesmerizing view of Jaipur City from Nahargarh fort is worth all the fatigue.
How To Reach Nahargarh:
Once you have reached Amer Fort, you will get so many autowalas, outside the fort. They know the area well. My one sided fare of Nahargarh fort was 200 INR. The autowalas will obviously quote higher price. It depends upon your negotiation skills to settle on a lower price.
Ticket : 50 INR
Inside the fort, there are so many places to explore. You can go to Sheesh Mahal or Wax Museum. However, the cost of each is a bit on the higher side.
Tips For The Trip
Carry a water bottle, some snacks and some tissues.
Also carry some cash in your wallet. There are chances your mobile will have no network once you reach the fort.
Negotiate with the drivers as much as you can.
