This cave houses the carving of Lord Vishnu in Ananthashayanam (meaning: infinite sleep).We can see that Vishnu is resting on his 5- headed snake Sheshnaag and as folklore suggests he is floating in the infinite ocean of milk in Vaikuntha, his abode.
