So our first stop is the city of Nawabs, Lucknow. The city which is rich in its culture and has the best food well is not just some small city but a pool of extravagant things.
Here is a list of few places you can visit and explore in the beautiful city of Lucknow.
Chowk or the old Lucknow is the area of the city with the all the historical heritage and great food. Visit the Bada Imambara and get fascinated by the fact and the stories behind the monument. Get lost in the Bhool Bhulaiya and find your way out from the 1000 doors of the maze. Visit the British residency and take a look at the historic museum. Also, get mesmerised by the magnificently alluring sight of the Rumi Darwaza. Roam around the old boulevards of chowk and feel every inch of the nawabi side of the city.Don't miss the clock tower and the Chota Imambara and the Planetarium when in chowk.
2. Deva Sharif
Deva Sharif is a beautiful dargah a few kilometers away from the main city. It is famous for the shrine of Haji Waris Ali Shah and the calm and the enchanting silence of the place. Where one is not welcomed in every dargah, deva sharif entertains every person and welcomes the visitors with a big heart. One must go to the dargah and pray, as it is an experience of a lifetime.
3. Aminabaad
The busiest place in Lucknow with so many shops that it will become hard for you to count them. This place is best for shopping for clothes, home decor items, wedding dresses, jewelry at amazing discounted prices. Also, visit Hazaratganj near Aminabaad to get the feel of the British colonies and the amazing Cathedral church.
4. Marine drive
Yes! Marine drive in Lucknow. Located near the very famous Gomti river, the marine drive is a quiet place where you can enjoy the sunset near the serene beauty of the river. Later you can enjoy the light and sound show and take a stroll in Asia's biggest park, Janeshwar Mishra park. A giant wheel as big as the London eye is soon going to be installed in the park.
5. Kashishwar Mahadeo Temple:
Holding a great history, this temple in rural Lucknow is a must visit. This temple has a great cultural value and is the witness of Hindu traditional Vastu art. The main temple is surrounded by eight Shivallas around it and is a place of absolute tranquility.
What to eat:
Don't miss the very famous tunday kabab which you would get in any outlet of the tunday legacy. Have Lala ki biriyani in chowk and get your taste buds amazed by the mouthwatering taste of the biriyani. Get up early in the morning and visit Sharma tea stall in Hazratganj and enjoy fresh tea with Bun and white butter. Try basket chat at the royal cafe. Also, enjoy local delicacies like paani poori which is completely different from other places in India, dwell into the taste of sweet Sheermals and mutton stew. Lucknow is well commuted with a fully functional airport, frequent trains, and well-connected highways. Lucknow can be easily reached with basic commutes and inside the city to take a ride around the city on a rickshaw.
