Switzerland Trip: We (me with my wife and daughter) visited Switzerland in the month of October in 2015; People of our country especially females are super excited for visiting #Switzerland and the same was the case with my wife (Teena). We were in Italy during that time and planned a visit to this country from there. To have a flavor of this country, we only had 3 days, so we decided to plan for the most talk about destinations only (“#Lucerne, #Zurich, #Engelberg, #Mt Titlis). To roam around these places, we need a center point so we booked a flat via “#airbnb” in Lucerne at Manuela's (Our host) for 2 nights and we loved it. Manuela was a great host, she is nurse in some nearby hospital and she guided us well for our trip, my wife and our 2 year daughter (Aarvi) felt homely as she allowed us to use her kitchen with all food items and living room too. This flat was beautifully located within walking distance to most of the touristic places as well as railway station, we took a train from Italy to Lucerne and as soon as train crosses few kilometers from “#Milan” the beautiful scenic view starts, the train runs at the speed of more than 200kms/h even in the hilly regions, the route is all surrounded with the beautiful grasslands and valleys and the mountains. The journey itself was full of joy and awe moments. After talking to few people, we came to know that European tourists don’t prefer to visit Switzerland because of its very high cost. The major tourist’s footfall is from India & China. Luzern is nice place to chill out, walk near lake and has few good museums (Swiss museum of transport). During October they organize Lucerne autumn fair for kids, Aarvi enjoyed a lot in that fair. One full day is required to visit Engelberg & Mt Titlis and the train journey from Lucerne to Engelberg is one of the most scenic journeys of our life. People visiting Switzerland visits at least one of the mountains among Titlis, Pilatus and Jungfrau. We chose to visit Titlis and the weather we got there was awesome (Clear sky, sun shine , -2.5degC, 10000 feet above sea level). We met many Indians in Gondola (mostly gujjus) and were happy to see each other. I spoke few lines in Gujarati (pardes main desi bhasha sunne aur bolne ka mazaa hi kuch aur hai) and enjoyed the conversation. Shooting of DDLJ movie has increased the tourism to this mountain significantly so they have kept the movie poster in the top of the mountains. This mountain also had highest swinging bridge in the world. We enjoyed costliest (for us till date) hot served Indian food at the top and enjoyed in snow for few hours, the view from the mountain were breathtaking. The Glacier cave at titlis is amazing. Aarvi enjoyed a lot in snow (kids adapt to environment better than adults). Trip to this place is worth the money it costs. We created memories that give us joy even today, when we think of this trip. Someone has rightly said “It's tough to find a place not to like in Switzerland”.
