This summer we visited the offbeat destination of Phu Quoc, the pearl island of Vietnam, known for its crystal-clear waters and stunning beaches. The island’s laid-back vibe, friendly locals, and a selection of luxurious resorts make it an ideal destination for those seeking a beachfront retreat.
What truly made our trip memorable was our stay at Sailing Club Signature Resort. The resort offers spacious villas with private pools, fully equipped kitchens and a minimalistic design that caters to the discerning traveler. It truly is a ‘Home away from home.’ Guests have the option of choosing two or three bedroom villas.
Speaking from my experience of staying at various luxury hotels worldwide, including water villas in the Maldives, suites at palace hotels in India, and rooms with views of iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower in Paris or the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, I must say that the villas at Sailing Club Signature Resort are one of the best I have stayed at. During our stay, we checked into a two-bedroom villa that featured a private pool, generously sized living room and a modern, fully equipped kitchen. These duplex villas offered true luxury, complete with all modern amenities and resort’s impeccable service.
Reflecting a Scandinavian style with minimalistic elements, a homely appearance, and an artsy design, the villas provide a cozy yet spacious, playful yet sophisticated atmosphere with 5-star amenities. They successfully blend nature with urban comfort, whether it’s the abundant natural daylight or the enchanting starry night view. Each villa comes with a private pool surrounded by greenery, floor-to-ceiling windows, well-appointed entertainment options, and a fully-equipped kitchen along with an outdoor BBQ area.
Food
The all-day dining restaurant at the resort- Sandals- offers a delectable fusion of traditional Vietnamese dishes and contemporary cuisine. With a focus on fresh ingredients and rich flavors, every meal at Sandals is a delightful experience.
What sets the dining experience apart is the option for guests to handpick their own ingredients at ‘The Market’ and create a meal in the comfort of their villa or, if they prefer, they can request the chefs to work their culinary magic.
We looked forward to the breakfast spread each morning and chef’s recommendations for lunch and dinner.
Beyond Rooms
The resort boasts a range of amenities, including a spa, fitness center, a dedicated kids’ play area, and, of course, a beautiful pool. On the first day of our trip, we indulged in a rejuvenating massage, setting the tone for our stay. The spa’s waiting area overlooking a waterbody is a tranquil oasis where you can unwind before or after your treatment. Since both my husband and I chose to go the spa at same time, the staff was thoughtful enough to accommodate our seven year old son too for a quick child friendly massage.
Similarly, the staff at the kid’s play area introduced him to a new game every day which he could take back to the villa. It was really impressive how family-friendly the resort is and how well they took care of my son.
One of the resort’s standout features is its proximity to the Long Beach and access to the Sailing Club’s Beach Club. In the evenings, there was entertainment to enjoy, including the mesmerizing fire show. We spent days lounging at the beach club, taking a dip in the pool and enjoying the sunsets on the beach.
The resort has a shuttle service to the beach and the club. The resort’s staff members are warm and friendly, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere.
