This was my solo trip to London and I had decided that I won't be exploring London via hop-on-hop-off bus service or any "touristy" way. I would be spending my two days solo trip exploring the streets of London and that's exactly what I did.
I reached London late night and went directly to my pre-booked hostel. If you are on a budget and won't mind sharing a room with strangers then cheaper way to stay in london is to book a hostel. It is better to book it in advance. I stayed in Kensal Green backpackers,Kensal Green which cost me £20 or approx ₹1800 for 2 nights and is walkable distance from underground station and easily accessible via bus too. This hostel is fairly clean and beds were comfortable with in room bathroom and common washroom. You can also look for Hyde
After good nap, I started early morning and headed to my first destination for the day.
1) 221B,Baker Street
Being a big Sherlock Holmes fan, this place was on top of my list. There is Sherlock Holmes cafe on Baker Street having exact depiction of Movie/TV Series. Ground floor has a shop with all kind of Sherlock Holmes goodies and a Sherlock Holmes standing outside to greet everyone.
Oxford Street is major shopping area in London and is walking distance from Baker Street. Being January starting all the Christmas and New Year's sale was on. There were all major brands and eateries. During Christmas roads are decorated with such beautiful lights. If you are shopping freak this is the best place to be at.There were a lot things happening on streets from singing to music to protest. This is one of the busiest place in London
After spending plenty of time here and clicking pictures I moved on to V&M Museum. I am not that fond of Museums but on recommendation of a friend I visited this place and got a few good photos too.It is the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design.
London is incomplete without visiting the most famous London Eye, but it was under maintenance. So plan your trip accordingly if you want to go up there on it. The whole place is so lit and beautiful.
Ending the night at the most happening place in London. If in London then it has to be in your list to experience the best of nightlife in not only London but whole of England.
Piccadilly circus ,Leicester Square and Chinatown are all nearby and combined to offer you the best of this place. It has so much to offer like from dance clubs to eateries of all kind of cuisines to streets acts to anything one want.
After London Eye, London is famous for its Tower Bridge, atmosphere around it is so good.People taking photos and ferries all around in Thames river is just perfect.
Listing all other places to visit :
