Overview

Zanskar is a region covering an area of over 7000 sq km at an altitude between 11000 ft to 13000 ft. This remote area remains cut off for over 7 to 8 months in a year and is accessible only when Pensi La pass is open. The chadar frozen river trek is extremely popular. Travel magazines worldwide show incredible pictures of Buddhist monks walking bare feet on the river. It is a 6-7 day trek in inhospitable conditions over a frozen river in Ladakh. What sets the Chadar trek apart is its unique experience. Check out the detailed itinerary below for more information.
