Langkawi is an Archipelago in the Andaman sea. There are 99 islands in Langkawi which belong to the Kedah State of Malaysia. I planned this trip along with my cousin who lives in Singapore. Air Asia has daily flights from Singapore to Langkawi and the journey time is close to 90 minutes
We reached Langkawi by 12.30 p.m and met our Guide who is a Tamil settled in Langkawi. Our hotel stay was in Kuah which is the biggest town in Langkawi. After few minutes rest we visited Kilim Geo forest park, Black sand beach and Durian Perangin Waterfalls
Kilim Geoforest Park - You must visit the Geo forest park. This is one of the main attractions in Langkawi. Since there are many Tamils in this place we got a bargain for three hour tour which includes Bat cave, crocodile cave, fish farming, Eagle feeding and Andaman Sea
Black Sand beach - There is nothing special about this beach except the sunset. Just spend few minutes if you are passing by this place. The sand is black because of the oil spill and it's nothing special
Durian Perangin Waterfalls - Durian Perangin Waterfalls is a 14 tier waterfall located in the North east part of Langkawi. The waterfalls, black sand beach and Kilim Geo forest park are near by and can be covered in half a day
Langkawi Sky bridge and cable car - The Sky bridge and cable car are the most visited attractions in Langkawi. The sky bridge is built in the peak of the Machinchang mountain
Seven Wells Waterfalls - Seven Wells waterfalls are natural pools of water streams that flow through the Mount Mat Cincang. Unfortunately our mobiles were out of battery and we could not take any pictures of this beautiful place
Pantai Cenang Beach and Jet Ski - An tour to Langkawi is not complete with Adventure sports especially Jet Ski. Most of the adventure activities are held in the Pantai Cenang Beach in the Southern part of Langkawi. You can bargain with them and get the best jet ski tour package. Believe me try to ride the jet ski solo and it would be an unforgettable experience
The fourth day was rainy and we had no other choice but to rest in our hotel. We had planned to take a two wheeler for ride around the island. Unfortunately we had no other choice but to walk around the Kuah town and the night market. We boarded our flight back to Singapore the next day and bid a good bye to the beautiful island. I would recommend the other places we could not visit due to shortage of time
1. Pulau Payar Marine reserve
2. Hiking the Gunug Raya mountain
3. Payar marine park - snorkelling
4. Field of the burnt rice
5. Lake of the pregnant maiden - island hopping tour
6. Eagle square - Kuah
7. Mangrove kayaking tour
