It has everything a traveller needs you are always surrounded by turquoise sea , paddy fields, Hills, Forest reserves , Mangroves and Coconut trees. It's a paradise for Shoppers, Liquor & Chocolate lovers as Langkawi is a Duty Free Island. Below #itinerary is planned in a way that you save time , money while travelling without missing out on anything. #Hotels, #Transport #Restaurants are suggested below. Each and every cost mentioned below is incl. #food , #stay , #ticket, #fuel , #car . You can choose hotels as per your #budget. My suggestions are based on my budget for the given trip and given day.
1)Flight - After staying in Kuala Lumpur for 3 days we took a morning AirAsia flight from KUL Airport to Langkawi Airport. I got an amazing deal for this flight as I booked it way in advance. One Way fare 250 INR !!!!!!!!!!!!!
2) Langkawi Airport to Hotel - Uber Ride - 10 MYR . When you are in Langkawi use Uber for all your rides. It's the cheapest way to travel. Airport to Hotel 9Kms (15-20mins)
3) Check-In at Casa Fina Fine Homes at 11AM. The location of the hotel is perfect it is opposite to the Cenang beach on right on Tengah beach on left, 100 meters to Duty free stores , Underwater world , Restaurants & Cafes. They have 7-8 cottages, We had booked 2 as we were 4 people travelling. We stayed here for 3 nights. I paid 2300/- per night for 2 people http://www.booking.com/Share-9c4Rk8g
4) We slept for couple of hours as we had woke up very early in the morning.
5) Lunch - 1PM - Red Sky Lounge which is just 20 mtrs away from the hotel
6) 2:30PM - Sky Bridge - This is the most visited attraction in Langkawi and its a must visit place. It is a cable stayed bridge located at 660 mtrs high from sea level. You can get panoramic view of Langkawi. Unfortunately as it was raining heavily, we couldn't get views on all the sides. However, we enjoyed the rain and heavy winds on the bridge. Skybridge ticket 80MYR per person which includes Cable Car , Sky bridge , 3D Art museum.
7) To reach Sky bridge you have to take a SkyBridge Cable Car from the base camp. From hotel to Skybridge Uber (28mins , 20kms , 25MYR)
8) 3D Art Museum - 4:30 PM - Once you are back at base camp you can take a 1 min walk to the 3D Art museum. It is second largest 3D Art feature in the world, it features more than 200 artworks that appear almost lifelike when photographed.
9) 6PM - Uber - Back to the hotel at 6:30PM .
10) 7PM - We went for a walk to the nearby shopping streets and looking around the nearby areas. Duty Free Shopping on our way back to the hotel we stopped by at one of the biggest duty free stores in Langkawi which was just opp. to our hotel. Bought beers for the night.
11) Dinner - We ordered from a restaurant outside our hotel. They got us a full spread in our veranda with Hookah , beers and Lebanese food.
1) We woke up at 9AM had our breakfast at the hotel and headed to the beach to spend our rest of the day.
2) Cenang Beach is opposite to the hotel. We spent an entire day at the beach and hoping the cafes & bars on Cenang beach
4) Lunch with some chilled beers at the beach is one of favourite things to do. Yellow Beach Cafe is one of the best beach cafes in Langkawi
5) Dinner - We followed the same routine like the other day. We ordered from a restaurant outside at our hotel. They got us a full spread in our veranda with Hookah , beers and Arabic food
1) We booked a half day tour which is for 5-6 hours the tour is called Langkawi Mangrove Forest and Cave Exploring Tour. The tour includes Hotel Pick Up & Drop , natural landscapes of Langkawi Island, mangrove forest by boat through Kilim River , Cave of Bats , feeding the tame stingrays at the Fish Farm
2) Pick up from Hotel at 7AM
3) After a 40mins ride we reached to the base camp from where the boat tour was suppose to start in kilim River and across Kilim Geoforest Park
4) First stop was at Kelwar Cave also called as Bat Cave
5) As we were going deeper in the mangroves the river was getting narrower and the view was getting better and better
6) In the next 1 hour of the ride atleast 1000's of Red Eagles / Red Kites which actually translates to Langkawi in Malay. The island region is named on these kites. As we went ahead the river opened up in the ocean through the Strait of Malacca
7) The next stop was for lunch at a floating village which also had a fish farm where we tried hand feeding the tame stingrays
8) We reached the base camp at 1PM for our drop back to the hotel. We asked the tour guys to drop us at Hole Recreation Park which was on the way. So, that we can book a cab from there to Gurung Raya. By doing this we saved atleast 2 hours of going back and forth to the hotel.
9) Gunung Raya 2:30PM- is the highest mountain in Langkawi at 880 mtrs height covered with dense rainforest. The top of the mountain gives panoramic views of the Langkawi Island. In the photos below if you are able to see land masses in distance than its Kingdom of Thailand. There is a resort on the top which you can access at 10MYR fee which includes a cup of tea you can sit there and enjoy the view. D'coconut hill resort
10) Dataran Lang OR Eagle Square - From Gurung raya we headed to Dataran Lang at 5PM. We reached at 6PM at Dataran Lang. Its a 12 meters tall reddish-brown eagle statue built as an emblem of the island.
11) Dinner - We headed back to the hotel and followed the same routine for dinner. We ordered from a restaurant outside at our hotel. They got us a full spread of Seafood platters in our veranda with Hookah and beers
1) We got up at 9AM had our breakfast , packed our bags and got ready for our flight. We had to leave at 2PM from Langkawi, which meant we head good 4 hours to hang out.
2) Under Water World - 10AM- This was bang opposite to our hotel next to the duty free zone. So, we had kept this for the last day. It is the largest marine and fresh water aquaria in South East Asia. It looked like Penguins were the best attraction in here. Ticket 40MYR per person.
3) Shopping - We headed to The Zon Duty Free Store for shopping. As this was our last day in Malaysia. We wanted to buy souvenirs and duty free liquor bottles to carry back to India.
4) Lunch - 12PM at Telaga Seafood Restaurant
5) Check-Out 1PM . Reached Langkawi Airport to head back to India
