22 years in Hyderabad, haven't heard a thing about this place!
While reading a travel blog, I've come across this place and immediately sent a screenshot to my two other friends. So without further ado, we hit the road. My parents were little apprehensive about our driving skills (Stereotyping girls, you see!), but then I guess we've outsmarted them by reaching Warangal in time (Main reason was India-Pak match and I hated myself for missing the first innings). But then still I did try to watch a few overs when we stopped over for a delicious sizzling Brownie @ CCD. Gossip, Food and lots of Love made the journey all the more memorable.
We took off from Warangal after having a mouth watering lunch, all thanks to my friend's mom. The local people were very helpful with the directions. And at one junction, we had to take a right which would take us directly to Laknavaram. That route was amazing. I really don't know why I loved it but those mud huts, little children playing outside, farms and everything about that village brought a huge smile on my face.
Finally we reached the place. It looked like a normal tourist spot with a special attraction i.e. Swinging bridge. We walked across the bridge while taking tons of pictures. And yeah! you could avail the option of instant photography. So we reach the island where you get food and the lake.
The moment we reached the lake side, the weather had changed. They had boating facilities available. We took a boat for four. Five minutes after we started, we were hit by the cool breeze and a breathtaking view of sunset. Forest on one side, small islands on the other side and amidst the Mother nature - It is just divine. One cannot miss this experience.
If you are going to Laknavaram, you should not miss the boat ride. You just cannot miss it!
