Magical and surreal! That's how I would describe my first rendezvous with snowfall. It literally takes your breath away and you are awestruck at this magnificent miracle of nature. We were blessed to witness our very first snowfall back in December 2019 on 13th, which happened to be season's first snowfall and totally unpredictable as the locals informed us later.
However, this blog is not about that. Here, I have compiled photos from our one-day sojourn to Kufri. After many cancellations (due to heavy snowfall a day before) and haggling on phone calls with five different cab drivers, we finally settled on the cost of INR 1300 for 4 people to take us to Kufri and back. This is a steal deal, especially during snowfall. The distance between Shimla and Kufri is 15 km, approx. So, make sure you bargain as much as you can and not pay more than 2k for a day's trip.
We left in the afternoon and it took us approximately 1.5 hours to reach our destination. The delay was due to erratic snowfall and long traffic jams. Passing the beautiful Green Valley on our way, stopping on the way to click pictures and ultimately walking in snowfall, we reached Kufri.
After treating ourselves to a late lunch, we started off to the main point, first on foot and then on horseback. Rest everything can be summed up in pictures rather than words, hence have curated a photoblog for you all.
