Day 1

Boarded AirAsia night flight from Chennai, a transit in Kualalumpur for 4 hours and reached Bali in the morning around 7 AM. There was a blunder in the initial booking. Booked Singapore Airlines from Chennai to KL and Air Asia from KL to Bali. As it is on arrival visa in Bali, we never thought of reaching out to embassy for Visa before boarding the flight. Somehow through a friend got to know that there are 2 airports in Malaysia and we need a Malaysian Visa for the transit in case our flights are in different airport. Thank God, since we got to know this before a week of our travel, we were able to cancel the Singapore airlines ticket for KL and booked Air Asia flight from Chennai to KL. In this case, Malaysian Visa is not required as we need not come out of the airport.
We always wanted to explore the city by ourselves, have not booked taxi provided by hotel. Came out of the airport and booked uber to our hotel that costed around 500 INR.
Checked in the hotel, had the complimentary breakfast provided by the hotel. Refreshed and got ready for the first day trip.
Came out of the hotel and booked a random taxi on the road.
The first stop was GWK- Garuda Wisnu Kengana cultural park. It was extremely hot day and roaming around the place surrounded by rocks exhausted us. After 2 hours of touring the place, had some refreshments and headed to pandawa beach. It was around 4 PM and we couldn't bear the heat. So we returned back immediately and had our lunch at street near the beach. We are pure vegetarians and explaining the street food guy to make veggie noodles was painful. I was stupid for not having the language translator handy. Somehow explained him and got us the veggie maggi for lunch. Then headed to Uluwatu temple also called cliff temple for sunset view. The place was crowded with people waiting for the sunset view. Unfortunately we could not get the view because of the clouds. However the whole view of sea from the cliff was alluring.
Spent some time there and headed back to our hotel. Since we didnt had proper lunch, we wanted to have Indian food for dinner. On the way back, we requested the taxi driver to take us to Indian restaurant and we were dropped at the Golden saffron. The food was authentic north indian but obviously little pricey.
Returned back to our hotel in the same taxi. The driver agreed to tour us at standard cost everyday, so we noted his number.

Day 2

Had our breakfast at hotel and headed to famous Tegalalang rice terrace. After spending some time over there, stopped by coffee plantation where we had a guided tour about Kopi Luwak cultivation and making. The coffee cherries being eaten by Asian Civet and the beans cleaned from excretions of Civet is the famous Kopi Luwak.
Then headed to a Tegenungan waterfalls. The gushing waterfall and serenity pool below were inviting to beat the heat.
After chilling out in the falls, made our way to next spot which is Ubud monkey forest. Our daughter got to spend some time with the naughty creatures, fed them and had fun.
Headed back to our hotel, on the way stopped over at same Indian restaurant for dinner.

Day 3

Had breakfast at hotel and headed to first stop of the day Taman Ayun temple. There are lot of amazing and old temples in Bali in which we were able to cover a few. After touring around the temple, headed to another temple Ulun Danu Beratan. This place has a cool atmosphere and one we dont feel the heat. This temple has picturesque lake and is dreamy. After clicking pictures, headed to Mount Batur. It's a volcano, we were able to view it from a distant place. Then stopped for lunch. After a light lunch, headed to Tirta Empul temple which is divine and beautiful. Our last stop for the day was famous temple built on the sea, Tanah Lot. Reason to chose this in the evening was sunset. Before sunset, we can see the sand and walk to the temple. As the sunsets, this sand will be closed by water from sea. This place is again picturesque from any angle.
Headed back to our hotel room, with a stop over in the Golden saffron restaurant.

Day 4

Had breakfast at the hotel and headed to the Besakih, temple with splendid architecture. We have to climb around 400 steps to reach the top, the main temple. The temple is divine and it was an auspicious day for Balinese, we could see some of their rituals during our visit. Headed to the second stop which was Tirta Gangga. This place has a pond with lots of colorful fishes. Collection of stone pillars built on the water and you can walk on these pillar like sculptures submerged in the pond. We can buy the food to feed the fishes. This was once a place owned by Royal palace.
We wrapped up our day trip and headed back to our hotel room. Refreshed and started for our dinner, on the way explored some of the local super markets.

Day 5

Day 5 was exciting for kids, as it was the beach day. Had breakfast at the hotel and headed to ferry junction to travel to Nusa penida island. There are several islands, but we only had one day remaining in our trip, so we chose a day trip to Nusa Penida. It took close to one hour to reach the island in a small 200 seaters ship. Once we reach the island, each of the family will get a car to roam the island which is included in the day package. The day package includes to and fro island trip, car with driver and tour to 3 places within the island ( the package may vary with agencies).
The first stop was Kelingking beach, this view of sea from the cliff is a famous spot for taking pictures and is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.we need to climb the cliff to view the beauty of turquoise sea and we can climb down the steps to reach the white sand beach. It was extremely hot and exhaustive hike, but the beauty just erased all the sickness.
The second stop was broken beach, another famous and pretty spot for taking pictures. This has a natural pool formed from the sea and tourists can take a dip. After spending sometime, headed for our lunch. The final stop of our day was crystal bay which is nothing but a beach on the turquoise sea. Kids spent a good time playing in the water. There is also snorkeling and scuba diving, but we didnt included that in the package.
Then headed back to ferry junction to take a ferry back to the town. Spent our evening exploring the  street markets.

Day 6

It was our last day in Bali before boarding our flight to Chennai. We didnt plan for the day trip. Instead relaxed and rested well, spending a good time on the hotel's pool. Had our lunch, packed our bags and headed to the airport for return flight via Kuala Lumpur
