The past two months have been a way of life that I had never imagined could actually happen…no, not even in movies.
Here I was, working in normal shifts, playing football with friends, hanging around with them, debating on politics and cricket, planning for new adventure treks. Fast forward 2 months later, I have perfected the art of ‘Work from Home’ and ‘Work for home’. I have a set routine now. I get up from bed, clean the house, water the plants, help mom with the dishes, order daily essentials from online grocery portals, and in between, I log in to my desktop, do my project work, deliver reports on time, and take client calls. It’s been ages since I have had the taste of mutton biriyani or tandoori chicken. It’s been ages since I had run freely on a football ground. It’s been ages I have had a dream of the mountains calling. No Premiere League matches, no Cricket matches, no movies , no concerts, no parties, no travels…life has come to a monotonous stand still where the only form of entertainment is the art of survival.
If there is one feeble positive I can get out of this, it would be that I have discovered my home in a new way. The number of times I have been up in the terrace in the past two months is already greater than the number of times I have been up here in the past 18 years!
Thank god I did, for the simple ways of nature –sunsets, birds, clouds, rainbows, sun, and moon have made me a keen observer and understand the rules of nature in a deeper way. Here are a few snaps from my terrace during the lock down days, my new world of happiness amidst this pandemic times.
