Udaipur is called the Venice of India. I have explored a lot of places in Rajasthan, and Udaipur was a completely different experience. If you are someone romantic at heart like me, but not lonely like me I am here to provide some help for your Udaipur trip to make it memorable.
I started my journey from Gurgaon and took a stop at Kishangarh which is popular for its dumpingyard.
Kishangarh is a very small city and a leading industrial area for marble. The marble waste is thrown away in a pit which has slowly taken the shape of small hills with water ponds giving it an exotic location feel. If you are coming from NCR, take a stop at the marble pit and click some romantic photos with your partner.
Fateh Sagar Lake is the next and the main stop in Udaipur. You must have heard a lot about Lake Pichola, but trust me on this, if you are traveling for a romantic getaway opt for Fateh Sagar Lake. Unless you have a budget of Taj Mahal Palace or Oberoi Udaivillas, you can get some beautiful budget friendly options in Fateh Sagar. You get an amazing lake view, you can walk here in the morning or in the evening , enjoy the sunset and avoid a lot of crowds.
Lake Pichola is a bit crowded but you will find many beautiful restaurants with roof tops to enjoy a candle light dinner. Some of the options are even budget friendly. While on lake Pichola, you can also go to the boat ride at sunset and enjoy mesmerizing view.
Bicycle ride
If you are someone who loves to take a ride , bicycle riding option is a really good thing to do. You can rent it for as low as an hour or even a day. The bike can be rented from Fateh Sagar and you can take a stroll over the lake with it.
If you are someone who loves hills, Sajjangarh fort is a great option. This fort is a little outskirts of Udaipur City but provides a beautiful sunset view across the Aravali ranges. Take your loved ones with you and witness a beautiful sunset.
This place is very popular among the pre wedding venues. The place is reachable via a short trip followed by a trek. It is best to visit this place at sunrise and capture the beautiful sunrise and its shadow over the lake.
The City palace is an amazing place and one of the biggest forts in India. You will be amazed how well maintained and beautifully carved it is even when it was made centuries ago. You will feel like a king and queen when you move across the museum.
An expensive option though , but it's worth a try if you are coming with your loved ones. This place can be visited by boat from the City palace. The boat ride takes you through the outskirts of Oberoi and Taj hotel and leave you to Jagmandir. You can stay there as long as you want, have food and enjoy some peaceful time in the garden.
