It was in context to my earlier post of Chamba. On day 2, we were in Khajjiar. As told, we were a group of 7 travelers who went out to enjoy our weekend in Himachal's most explored destinations - Khajjiar (Also called as mini Switzerland of India), Dalhousie and Chamba. On day 2 of our trip, we reached to Khajjiar from Dalhousie. For those who are not the lovers of greenery, they will just see Khajjiar as a ground full of people, but for us it was a lust garden with tall surrounding trees.
Once you enter into the Khajjiar ground, you can see kids playing around and people doing paragliding in the blue sky. There were tourists who dressed keep on clicking pictures from varied angles. The beauty of the place was beyond the explanation through words. One really has to visit Khajjiar to experience it. The purple colored clouds with a tint of orange added more of the attraction to the enthralling picturesque scenery. From horse riding to kids paragliding, people can do many other sports there.
Talking about the food there, it was homely and has different options for the veg and non veg lovers. We opted for supreme veg thali which has the combination of daal, mix veg and other delicacies. Due to time constraints, we then head towards our camps located at some remote location around 3.5 Kms from Khajjiar, it was totally a forest treck but worth of completing. It was a small village located at the mountain end. We had our local dinner cooked with minimal spices but more of love.
Opinion: We went to Khajjiar in month of August-September, but if you want to experience snow, then opt to go there in Winters. Also if you are more of adventure sport lover then you can try Paragliding, it is once in a lifetime experience. P.S. you can bargain for the prices of adventure activities and don't forget to click a memorable photo in himachli attire.
