During my college days, I embarked on a two-day and one-night road trip to Vagamon with my college friends.

Day 1

We kicked off our journey from Madurai at the crack of dawn, around 5 o'clock. Our group consisted of six members, and we had three bikes in tow. Our initial expenditure was on filling up the fuel tanks of our bikes, with each bike requiring approximately 1300 rupees for a full tank. With our tanks topped up, we hit the road heading towards Theni. Our first pitstop was in Theni, specifically at a place called Veerapandi. This location was akin to a temple nestled near a river and was quite renowned. We captured some memorable moments with photographs and took a breather there. From there, we continued our journey towards Kumily, which was our second stop. Kumily is a hilly region and marks the border between Tamil Nadu and Kerala. At the border, we went through a routine check by the police, and after a few questions, we resumed our ride and paused for breakfast at a local hotel in Kumily. Following our breakfast, we set off for Vagamon. Our accommodation for the trip was at the Vaga Heights Resort, which turned out to be a great choice. The journey from Kumily to Vagamon took us through winding roads surrounded by lush forests and tea estates, creating a truly delightful experience. By noon, we arrived at the resort and were pleasantly surprised by the room we had booked. It was incredibly beautiful, featuring full-length glass windows that provided a 360-degree view of the surroundings. We couldn't have asked for a better room. After a restful nap to recover from our bike ride, we enjoyed a delicious lunch.

While I'm uncertain about the exact hotel expenses, the room we secured boasted a breathtaking scenic view. After a satisfying lunch, we commenced our true Vagamon adventure. We arranged for a jeep tour to explore the sights and partake in some thrilling off-road escapades. The cost per jeep was around 2500 rupees, and each jeep accommodated six of us. During the excursion, we visited five remarkable locations, encompassing waterfalls, panoramic mountain vistas, dense forests, and exhilarating off-road experiences. As the day drew to a close and the sun set, we returned to our resort, where we gathered around a campfire for a night filled with laughter and enjoyment.

Day 2

Good morning! I'd like to give you a glimpse of the morning scenery from my room.

We checked out of our hotel room and decided to visit Maramalla Waterfalls, which was situated 40 kilometers away from Vagamon. We embarked on a bike ride to reach our destination, and after an hour of riding, we arrived at Maramalla Waterfalls. The route we took was exceptionally scenic, with lush rubber plantations lining the way. Once we parked our bikes, we commenced a trek to reach the falls, covering a distance of approximately 4 kilometers through what seemed like a dense forest. Finally, we reached the crystal-clear waterfalls, wasting no time in enjoying the refreshing waters and having a great time.

After a refreshing bath and some quality time at the waterfalls, we returned to our bikes and had lunch at a random hotel nearby. From there, we rode our bikes back to Kumily, where we took a break for some evening tea. We also refueled our bikes before embarking on the journey back home. We eventually reached home around midnight, marking the end of our short but memorable trip.
