EXCITING THINGS THAT ARE OFFERED BY RAINFOREST

Trek to The Massive Athirapally Falls

This is where you are truly reminded of your insignificance beside a natural ecosystem. A walk which is actually a half hour walk turns into hours owing to the grandeur of the waterfall.

Walk Through the Forest

This is a treasure trove of wildlife. An elephant here and a deer there, a Giant Wood spider’s web blocking your view, while a flight of exotic birds fly over your head. You should always take a detour only to spot wildlife.

From the kitchen of Kadar Tribe

Now this is not only exotic but also an extraordinary experience. Using the primitive way of cooking, the Kadar tribe cooks smoky, woody tapioca and fish cooked in charred bamboo. But if you want to experience their food you must give five-day notice so that the cook from the tribe can be contacted for availability.

Cycle Up the Terrain

There are B-twins parked outside the property for the patrons so that they indulge in exploring the other two waterfalls - Charpa Falls and Vazhachal Falls, and also landscape around that offers a platter of surprises – be it the giant Malabar squirrels or the families of Nilgiri long-tail langurs.

Paradise For Birders

From The Great Indian Hornbill to Malabar Trogan to Paradise Flycatcher, there are some rare species of birds that once can enjoy spotting in these areas. Be sure to carry a pair of binoculars!!

Firefly Chasing

“You would not believe your eyes

If ten million fireflies

Lit up the world as I fell asleep”

This is exactly how it happens when hundreds of these soft-bodied beetles or lightening bugs as they are commonly called come out of their hibernation just before the rains. If you love walking under the starry blanket, you should do so while surrounded by a thousand lights guiding you!

Visiting the Famous Guruvayoor Temple

Dedicated to Guruvayurappan, a form of Vishnu, Guruvayoor Temple is located in the town of Guruvayoor, Thrissur, Kerala and is one of the most holy places in Kerala, which also makes it perfect destination for weddings and other sacred rituals.
