Kerala Kathakali Center - spell bound

Kochi comprises 3 main islands - Ernakulam, Willingdon and Fort Kochi.

The most important sights (in my opinion, in order of preference)

1) Ferry - take the ferry from Fort Kochi to Vypeen island without fail. hire a bike in Fort Kochi, drive to the Fort Kochi -Vypeen Jetty house, get onto the boat along with the scooter (this was an overwhelming experience for me) and drive 25 kms from Vypeen Jetty complex to Cherai Beach. Cherai is along stretch, crowded at some spots but if you re adventurous enough you can find a lonely spot to escape the crowd

2) Kerala Kathakali Center - Kathakali performance is a combination of colourful customes, mind blowing facial expressions, back ground that moulds the recital and a strong vocalist to narrate the scene. This is a must go! Also there are Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi & Mohini- attam performances once a week. Definitely the best 300 rs you will spend

3) Walking around Fort kochi and Mattanchery, getting lost in the streets, flirting with the monsoons, oggling at the cafes

4) Boating in the back waters/canals of river near Vaikyom

5) Eating at some of the cafes - David Hall Cafe/ Gallery - Earth -the Pizza

6) Old Harbour house - Sula & Bruschetta
