Along the unexplored Malabar coast

Day 1

Just when the flood hit god's own country was returning to normal, we decided to venture the less traveled route to the Malabar coast..

We started our journey from Bangalore to Kannur via Wayanad as the route via Madikeri was closed as per google map.

Though we started at 3 am, after Mysore towards Wayanad the roads were really bad due to the floods, lot of landslide and lot of devastation.. it took us little more than 12 hours to finally reach our destination.

Our shelter for next 2 days was "Asokam Beach Resort" .. A very beautiful small resort with all basic amenities right opposite to the beach.. what more can you ask for on a beach vacation.

Sunset and sunrise was the best I have ever seen.. no touristy crowd either because it was less traveled route when compared Kochi or Trivandrum or because of floods , whatever it may be  it was a heaven untouched by commercialization.. nature at its best.

My daughter was all happy to enjoy the waves and we enjoyed the serenity of the untouched beauty.

Day 1 went off just lazing around the beach and watching the mighty sun drowning in to the sea.

Day 2

Our Day 2 started early as we wanted to visit the Asia's longest drive-in beach. Yes, you read that right.. Asia's longest drive-in beach is in South India and in our very own God's own country. The beach is named "Muzhupilangadu Drive-in beach".

Wow!! What a wonderful drive it was to drive splashing the waves on you and seeing the sun rise up.. I have no words to explain the experience.

After two good of hours of enjoying the drive at the beach , we headed back to our little resort for yummiest Kerela breakfast.

The resort we stayed was famous for their Ayurvedic massage and spa. So our next schedule for the day was to get ourselves pampered with the massage and it was indeed worth every penny. We felt so much relaxed and relieved after the massage.

Post lunch , we headed to see the Kannur fort and  the Museum. The view of the sea from the fort was just amazing.

We again ended our day watching the sun drowning in to the sea.

Driving along the waves..

Day 3

Today was our last day of the trip , so we headed towards Bekal fort at Kasaragod.

I had read reviews that it is one of the beautiful fort, but may be we went in a wrong time it was so dry and hot. We just felt like running back to our car and head back to Kannur.

After the fort, we headed straight for our lunch and went back to our little resort.

Since it was our last day here , we had so much fun playing in the beach, collecting the shells and building the sand castle.

Ofcourse, how can our day end without watching the sun splashing the colours all over the sky and drowning in to sea.

Day 4

The  worst day of my vacation would be the day we head back to our home.

I will always feel so heavy and reluctant to go back..
Wish I had the opportunity to keep travelling this beautiful world and never go back .

There is nothing much to see in Malabar other than enjoying the beauty of the untouched beaches , driving along the drive-in beach and tasting their lip smacking Thalassery Biryani. But We love going to such places where the nature is unspoilt and so it was our most memorable vacation of 2018.
