Alleppey -The Venice of the East

This vacation was special,as we discovered some of the beautiful places in God’s Own Country-Kerala.Alleppey is one of my favorite,also called Allapuzha and know as Venice of the East popularly. Alleppey is 2hours drive from Cochin Airport, famous for its backwaters and houseboat stay.We stayed in Rosey Houseboat which was a duplex houseboat,with all meals served on the boat.The staff was courteous and helpful while we were on the boat ride. Travelling to Kerala?One should surely take the experience of spending a day in a houseboat in backwaters in Alleppey.This offers an incredible view with various flora and fauna and exploring the village life of urban Kerala.While planning a journey to Alleppey houseboat do pack some of the essential necessities in your bag -a mosquito repellent,a good lip balm,a good sunscreen ,these can protect you from being a victim of mosquito bites in the evening,dry and sun burnt skin.One can enjoy the ride and can also click the photographs of various birds and do fishing while on the journey.We explored alot,lovely village people , mouthwatering cuisines especially “Sadhya“traditional way of serving food on banana leaf in Kerala.

Alleppey is all about backwaters merging into mighty Arabian ocean,spending a day in the midst of the backwaters is an experience to remember lifetime.
