Mayiladipara is a small Jain temple located on top of the hill. However, the highlight of this is first the trek you must take across the dusty path and between the hills to reach the place. Second is the view you can see upon reaching the top of the hill beside the main temple.
From the top, you can see the entire city of Kalpetta, one of the most significant towns in the Wayanad district. And Kerela, being one of the greenest states in the country, you can see the city with a background of hills and lush green forests. Even during the summer season, it was mesmerizing to see the tranquil beauty of nature at its best. However, note that since there is no sun cover during summers at the top, it can lead to exposure to extreme UV rays. Thus, ensure that if you are trekking up, carry a bottle of water and apply some sunscreen to avoid direct exposure.
At the entrance, there is a small counter that charges INR 20 per person. This is being used as a donation to the temple and in the upkeep of the place. Also, a proper viewpoint-styled square is constructed, which gives you the entire expanse of the city. Thus, overall, the trek is a medium difficult one. The climb can be completed in 15-20 minutes, depending on your speed and stamina. But once you reach the top, views that you would have never seen before await you. A must-do spot when on a tour to Wayanad !!!
