Took a flight around 4pm from Nagpur to Kochi, which took a stop at Chennai for say half an hour. It was our first flight experience. I must say seeing the clouds for the very first time already made us excited for our next trip. Later we reached at Kochi airport around 7:30 pm. We booked OLA and reached Aluva bus stand.
Aluva Bus stand is more near to Munnar, and so we decided to stay there.
We checked in at Kodavath regency, and took a small walk and ate typical south Indian biryani and curry at Ifthar restaurant. Please do visit this restaurant, at very affordable price you will get the best food.
Start your day early at 6, take bus for Munnar from Aluva bus stand. It would be better if you know little bit of Malayalam, else you can find someone who can help with bus names, like we did.
After 4 hours of journey, you will reach to lower Munnar. From there I would suggest take a walk to your hotel from there if you are staying near by. We however took a auto ride till our stay in Chithirapuram. You can also go to upper Munnar, which is another half hour journey.
For lunch - Salkara restaurant
Then look for a local auto driver and visit some amazing places, 3-4hours are sufficient for all below places. Enjoy the evening and relax.
Ripple Waterfall
Ponmudi Dam
Pallivasal Sunset point
Hanging bridge
You can end your day by going to Kathakalli and Martial arts show (Punarjani) in the town.
For above places, you can even book a off-road gypsy ride, but it's bit expensive and covers same places local auto rickshaw does.
Stay in Munnar - Greenberg holiday resort, it's between the tea garden. You will be surrounded by tea plantations, a perfect place to stay within nature. They provide you best hospitality. There's a book cafe on its terrace, you can enjoy reading books with a coffee or beer accompanied by some delicious food.
Enjoyed the morning walk and breakfast at Greenberg holiday resort. They also offer you small trek through village and spice gardens. We skipped that part because we want to just relax and chill in tea gardens surrounding our stay.
Later took a bus from Chithirapuram powerhouse road to Kochi at ~11pm.
Took some rest in bus, and arrived at Vyttila Mobile Hub, Ernakulam Bus Stand around ~3:30pm.
That was time for some food and we got in to a local cafe.
From Ernakulam Boat Jetty we took a ferry for Fort Kochi, it takes only 10rs per person.
In fort kochi, we found Hotel Rossitta wood castle, it was a perfect place to stay at walkable distance from the beach.
The stay was utilised for some shots in film Karwaan(2018), this fact made it the best place to stay.
We got fresh, took tea and had no plans for the evening, sat quietly by the Beach, enjoyed the live cooking and Fresh fish with sunset and Chinese finishing nets.
In fort kochi, you can spend entire evening at Chinese finishing nets having some sea food, there are travelers from all around the world. You can roam on the streets for hours. At every corner you will find pieces of Art, the place has never dying love for artists
