Day 1

The story behind Kedarkantha -
During the search for the most suitable place for asceticism Lord Shiva rested on a peak. It was solitary and saintly enough to satisfy him embarking on his meditation. But it was a matter of time when a strange but familiar echo started to disrupt the concentration of lord Shiva. For his amusement, he found the voice of a lone cow coming from a remote village of Shivaliks known as Sirga (famous for Leka top). This led him to abandon the place and continue his austerity at the world-renowned Kedarnath shrine. He left his trishula or trident as a landmark for his devotees and later this peak came into existence as Kedarkantha or throat of Lord Shiva.

"Sheheron ka fashion aur Pahadon ka mausam kabhi bhi badal sakta hai" is perfectly said by pahadi people.

I did my Kedarkantha summit on 28/12/21. It was a freezing cold morning with -10°C at our base camp. The earlier day, we just reached our base camp,  Janola (near Juda ka Talab), and heavy snowfall started. Our trek leader told us that if such snowfall continues, we won't be able to reach the summit. We prayed for it to go in our favor.

Day 2

We woke up at 1.30am to have our breakfast and got ready for the final summit climb. As we started our trek, the temperature was dropping rapidly, and heavy winds started blowing.
What we realized was that at any point we stopped climbing, the cold winds were bothering us more. In order to continue our summit climb, we had to keep moving regardless of the situation to keep our body warm. I somehow managed to reach the peak following all the trekkers in -14°C. There was a tea point before the summit, where I last saw my team member which happened to be my friend, with whom I exchanged bags.

I reached the summit all alone. After reaching the summit, my hands became completely numb and I wasn't able to find any of my group members. I was literally crying from the inside due to the body pain and overwhelming feeling of reaching the summit. At that point, I was praying to see any of my teammates and reach the base camp. I kept all the photos and videos aside and wanted to regroup with my team as I was lost.

I somehow managed to turn on the GoPro and capture this picture.
