Nainital and Kausani - Highlights of Kumaon Himalayas

Day 1: Reached Kathgodam from Delhi by train and took the prebooked cab (booked online for the entire trip) and moved towards Kausani, our first stop. We had prebooked our stay at Kausani at Himalaya Darshan Resort . The place is a little outside the main town and hence having a personal vehicle is kind of an advantage. But the location of this accommodation was its biggest USP. All separately placed wooden cottages with each one having its own Himalaya view to cherish.

Day 2: Morning started with the majestic view of Himalayas from the room itself. Slowly we pulled ourselves out from the comfort of the room to experience the chill outside and the morning fresh air. After breakfast we moved towards Nainital. Checked into a holiday home and just spent the day at leisure , visiting the Naini Devi temple, roaming around in the mall road in the evening and savoring hot momos and thukpas and finally retiring to our room.

My favourite although was Naukuchiatal as it was a quiet and serene lake nestled in the surrounding green hills with variety of bird life.We also enjoyed a boat ride here instead of the more popular Naini lake of Nainital

By evening we returned back to our room and called it a day.

Day 5: Ride back to Delhi to catch our flight back home.

Day 3: Today we were on the tour of the various Taals nearby Nainital. Starting with Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal, Sattal and so on.

Day 4: The last day was for the sightseeing around Nainital to the more touristy places like Tea garden, Eco cave garden, Tiffin top, ride on the cable car etc. The final day we also completed our shopping quota too.
