I was at Ealakka Retreat for a weekend, a homestay near Kattappana town in Idukki district. 'Ealakka' is the Malayalam term for Cardamom. The Retreat stands amidst the Cardamom farm which spreads across the kawnthi hills, and thus the name.
The stay promises local delicacies, an interesting trek through the farm, and camping facilities for ones who prefer the outdoors.
The place beams green in the foggy Cardamom field. The climate is breezy as you trek up the hill. Warm clothing and a good pair of shoes would do good.
