Annapurna Mardi Himal Trek is newly found alternative new hiking off the beaten track in Annapurna route. This recently developed Trek is just opened in 2012 and has yet to command large crowds like other major trekking routes in the region. A richly diverse trek that takes you through beautiful forested areas though the rocky mountain terrain and several base camps which may have snow depending on the time; Machhapuchhre along the top ridge on the way to base camp via Mardi Himal trek of year you visit. Mardi Himal is situated to the east of the Annapurna Base camp nearly under the spectacular Holy Mount Machhapuchhre As you trek along the ridge it's nearly possible, but imaginable, to look down at Annapurna Base camp itself. Trekking along Mardi Himal The trek goes through quite stone built villages through wonderful rhododendron forests blooming in many different colors. The forest path continues until about 3,300 m. when the trail takes on a rugged mountain setting with spectacular views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South. There's a low camp with probably the best views of Machhapuchhre anywhere in Nepal along with accommodation. Above this at 3580 m is high camp which again offers spectacular views overlooking Annapurna Base camp. Further along you can then reach Mardi Himal Base camp itself with views overlooking all of the Annapurna range.
At 4,500 meters (14, 763 ft) Mardi Himal Base Camp marks the highest point of the Mardi Himal Trek. The Annapurna mountain range is on full show from high camp on. At low camp Machhapuchhre is spectacular. The highlights of the entire trek include Machhapuchhre (also known as Fishtail, 6,993 m) Annapurna South (7,010 m), and Mount Hiunchuli (6,441 m).
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m) Meet and greet at airport. Transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (800m), 200km drive 7 Hours drive.
Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to Pothana (1925m, about 4 hours trek)
Day 04: Trek to Forest Camp at Kokar (2,600m)- 4 hours walking.
Day 05: Trek to Low Camp (3,150m)- 5 hours trekking.
Day 06: Trek to High Camp (3,700m)- 4 hours trekking.
Day 07: Excursion to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m)- 4 hours Trekking.
Day 08: Trek to Siding village (1,750m) -6 hours walking.
Day 09: Trek to Lumre and drive to Pokhara- 3 hours walking and 2 hours driving.
Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu
Day 11: Sightseeing and afternoon shopping in Thamel.
Day 12: Fly back to home
