After a long cab ride due to traffic we reached Kasol. It already had the vibe, streets full of people and every other place was decorated. The night was arriving and so was realization that this is winter and its cold. As we stood out of our cab we got hit by something that was unexpected. We already had booked the hotel (dont remember the name) from Tosh via mutual owner relationship. The hotel cancelled on us for somebody else ????. As expected, everything was full and places which had space costed us about our whole budget trip.
It was getting late and chilly so we finally booked Whoopers Hostel, little away from Kasol, on the banks of Parvati River but the problem was it was about 3Km away from where we stand. 3Km aint a big walk but we were tired, with full luggage and mind you it was chilly. So, I went for cab search and what I found out is nobody wants to travel as the whole place was clogged due to heavy traffic. I met around 20 guyz for cabs and everybody said no but I cannot take no for an answer it was getting late. Finally, a man in his teens said yes for money, we paid him 500 for 3Km (That's absurd but simple economics: Supply and demand).
The best thing about the hotel was not the food, room or anything but the way you enter it. You have to cross a bridge over the Parvati river.
After a long discussion within ourselves, we took dormitories and went to get ready. Their were few events going around our hostel and we also had one arranged at our place. After getting ready, we enjoyed the night and that's it, cant elaborate.
The next day we started our day visiting the true beauty, the Parvati river. Enjoyed its beauty and hang around with the gang. We didn't knew what do to next. As I said the trip was totally unplanned. We wanted to explore Kasol but no one wanted to walk, we were bored of cafes and German bakery (brutally honest). So, after long debate, discussion and some dramatic scenes we opted Manali for our next destination (It was not in the original plan).
So we took bus from Kasol to Manali. We started in afternoon and it was almost twilight when we reached Manali and I must tell you, I have been twice to manali before but this time it blew me. It was winter carnival and the whole mall road was decorated and the place buzzing. We ate ice cream before checking in to the hotel. The hotel was situated in Old Manali, 2 Km from the mall road and that to was an long walk with the luggage but worth it at it was on the banks of River Beas. We stayed at Hostel Yolo which is situated perfectly and I have stayed there two years ago.
The next thing was we were on the mall road again trying delicious street food like Delhi Chat, Momos and my favorite kesar Doodh with Jalebi (Milk).
