Revisiting through this blog the most outstanding and unusual places we came across on our 15 day road trip starting from Bangalore airport towards north or uttar kannad
Reached Murudeshwar almost on the 8th day of the trip (will fill you in about Murudeshwar and what all we did in these past 8 days )...from here on our way to Gokarna we drove an extra 20 kms and between Kumta and Sirsi village lies this most magnificent creation of nature called YANA...
Until about a decade ago this area was not accessible to tourists as it was under a thick forest cover. Now one can walk along the water streams under a lovely cover of green creepers and trees for about 3 kms to reach the karst limestone formations of most dramatically unusual formation of huge rocks.
The Mohini Shikhara near the entrance,
The Bhairav eshwar Shikhara at the backdrop of shiva temple.
From the temple onwards you go barefoot inside the caves and come out after taking a parikrama. This in itself is a wonderful experience.
Reaching Yana....it is 55kms from Sirsi village and 30 kms from Kumta village. The drive is scenic, as you drive on the Western ghats ....under a dense green cover .
Close by....not to be missed
Vibhuti falls
Mutti ghata falls
Manju guni temple
Jog
Honnavar
Gokarna
