Looking for an experience of a lifetime? The God’s Own Country Kerala, which serves as the gateway to travel wonders, is a melting pot of ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity. It is a state of contrasts, with a distinctive mix of opulent hotels, beautiful house boats, backwaters and breathtaking colonial-style structures all situated adjacent to one another. Kerala will welcome you with open arms the moment your feet touch down there. With its rich history, culture, and beautiful views, this quaint state has a lot to offer.
When I was a research student, I had my first glimpse of Kerala. I visited Kerala with my sister and dad for research purposes, and we later prolonged our vacation out of wanderlust. Even though I was only there for a less than two days, it was enough to make me want to return. You can take a train, a plane, or a road to Kerala. We traveled by car from Sirsi, Karnataka to Kerala.
DAY 1
Sirsi to Thrissur, Kerala, is around 610 kilometers apart. The three of us left Sirsi at around 8:00 am, arrived in Kumta at around 9:00 am, stopped for breakfast at Pandurang Restaurant, and then resumed our trip at about 10:30 am. We arrived in Udupi at about 1:00 pm.
We got fresh at Kediyoor Hotels after arriving in Udupi and headed to the Udupi Shri Krishna Temple for darshana. There was a brief queue to enter the temple when we arrived. We offered praayer and then received prasada and left to have lunch at Kediyoor Hotels.

Udupi Shri Krishna Temple is one of Karnataka's most exquisite temples. Ample parking, exceptionally clean surroundings of the temple. Every day, they provide pleasant and hygienic meals to devotees (anna prasadam). Here, we felt blessed.
Devimane Ghats
You will pass through this mountain road on your way from Sirsi to Udupi, which is located in the Western Ghat region of Karnataka and ultimately connects the Karavali town of Kumta and Malenadu town Sirsi .It has 15 hairpin curves, is located in the Uttara Kannada district's lush forest zone. The Devimane village, a spotless tiny hill town renowned for its peace, is located between these 15 hairpin twists. There are several waterfalls and scenic vistas in this area, which is perfectly tucked away in the Western Ghats. The name "Devimane," which means "the home of goddess Devi," was given to this ghat because of the Durga Devi temple that is located above the hill.
At Devimane, there is a viewpoint that offers breathtaking views of the vicinity, as well as a Kshetrapaleshwara temple that locals say guards the region. Travellers passing by this ghat frequently pause at the Kshetrapaleshwara Temple to offer prayer for their safety. The area is completely shrouded in fog during the monsoon, which makes it harder to see and enhances the grandeur of the spot.
Review of Kediyoor Hotels
The hotel is close to the bus terminal in the heart of the city. The accommodations are well-maintained and exceptionally clean. The employees are courteous. The cuisine is delicious. They have separate eateries for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. They also have a distinct confectionary and ice cream section. Despite the fact that our time at the hotel was brief a welcoming place to stay. Value for the money; highly recommended.
We left from Udupi to Mangaluru around 4:00 pm, arriving at 5.15 pm, and stayed at Hotel Sai Palace.
Views on the Hotel Sai Palace
Excellent location, trouble-free to find, and pleasant atmosphere. The hotel is exquisite and spotless, and the staff is courteous, however it falls short of Sai Palace Mumbai in quality. There was no buffet breakfast or lunch despite the fact that they have two restaurants, Udupi Café Vegetarian Restaurant and House of Flavours.
4000 per night/ 3 people (food excluded)

Around 8pm we reached our destination we stayed at Das Continental.
Perception of the Hotel Das Continental
Organized and secure hotel. They offer a breakfast buffet, which is not all that wonderful for vegetarians. Friendly and courteous staff. The bedrooms are immaculately tidy. A little on the expensive side. The spare bed they offer has a rather unfavorable hospital impression.
4800 approx per night/ 3 people (food excluded)
Day 3
After breakfast, we headed to the Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI). We arrived at about 9:00 am. There, I met Dr. R. Jayaraj of the Central Instrumentation Unit of KFRI, who assisted me in my research work along with his assistant. I finished my work there, had lunch and then we travelled to the Sree Vadakkumnathan Temple in Thrissur.
- One of Kerala's most stunning temples. We were enthralled by its architecture, culture, and artwork. Its Lord Shiva temple. Huge, spotless, and in a beautiful setting. Never had the urge to leave.
After that, we went to the Guruvayur temple in Guruvayur.
This is the temple to Lord Krishna. Exquisitely crafted. Pristine and well-kept. Excellent ambiance. As far as I'm aware, male worshipers must wear a lungi, and female devotees must wear traditional Indian attire to enter the temple (verify with temple authority).
From there, we traveled to the modest but lovely Thrissur Zoo and Kerala State Museum. Faultless and well-kept. We ran across a linguistic barrier when speaking with the zoo workers. Wonderful zoo to visit with family and children.
And then departed for the hotel Das Continental had dinner and slept.
