Day 1

So me and my friend decided to take a weekend trip.the cheapest and easiest destination seemed Bangalore so we booked tickets ,packed our bags and left.

Bangalore Kempegowda international airport is around 35 kms from the city. So we took a bus to the city. There are many AC buses plying frequently between airport and city ( KIA 5/9/11). We wanted a non AC option but couldn't find one. The trip costs INR  170 each.

We checked into our hotel Lemon tree near Ulsoor lake. It's a very quiet area . The lake is a very Serena place. We expected a lot of  hustle bustle around the lake but it isn't commercialized. There no lines of hawkers lining up the place. It was very clean and maintained. We had an enjoyable walk around the lake.
Then we went for lunch in MTR ,Lalbagh
It's a must to eat here if you're in Bangalore.
It's a bit costly at INR 260  for a meal.
It included 5 types of rice - rasam, sambar, biryani, bisebila baath and curd rice. Sweet was gulab jamun. There were Puris and masala dosa too! We were a bit week in the knees after this sumptuous lunch.

Then we decided to visit the renowned Iskon temple. Walked from MTR to Lal baugh metro station. Took a metro to Mahalaxmi.
The temple is a 5 min walk from there.

There are some stairs to reach the temple at the top. It was not very crowded . Inside the temple, our minds felt very calm and soothing.
The idols of Radha and Krishan were very nicely decorated and adorned.

The temple also has a  a gold-plated flag post 56 ft high

After darshan, towards the exit there is a wide variety of shops. They were offering books on Sri Krishna in all possible indian languages. Also merchandises like bags, artifacts ,idols photos all linked to Sri Krishna.

Also for foodies, there were shops selling eatables like ladoos, samosa, lemon rice, puliogare, etc.

Please take care that a strict dress code exists. No shorts are allowed. Though dhotis are available on rent to be worn over shorts.

Overall it was a very calming and spiritual experience in the temple.
A must visit if you go to Bangalore!
