Kolar is the one of the nearest place which people staying in Bangalore can visit in their weekends. Kolar had been already famous for its gold mines mostly known as KGF (Kolar Gold Factory). Other than mines, there are lot of other places that we can explore in Kolar. One of them is Kotilingeshwara temple. One of the most popular and sacred temple of Lord Shiva. There are more than a crore Shiva Lingas (shrines) in the temple and the name already states that. It’s a lovely place to visit in the weekend. Its almost 96 kms from Bangalore. The connecting roads are very good, mostly national highways.
