The trip started on a negative note as the cab my friend booked came one hour late. So, on 7 am morning, we started our journey to Mysore which is almost 3.5 hrs drive from Bangalore. The roads are pretty good and we reached around 11.30 and hired a scooty to see the Royal City.
First after having a breakfast we headed towards the Mysore Maharaja Palace. Trust me, the palace was too large and so as the crowd. We went inside the Palace and witnessed the historical artifacts and also clicked some photos. It took around 1.5 hours to visiting the whole palace and clicking the photos.
Then around 2 pm, we headed towards Balmuri falls, a man made waterfalls having stunning views. On the way we had our lunch and reached Balmuri falls around 3.30 pm. The sun was right above the head and it was too hot there. So after just clicking some photos we left for our last destination, the Vrindavan Garden which is not that far away from the waterfalls.
Considering as one of the best terrace gardens in the world, Brindavan Gardens feature colourfully lit water fountains, ornamental trees, flowering plants and lush green lawns. We roamed around the lawns and garden and captured some beautiful moments. After the sunset we left for Mysore city. Around 7 pm we reached and returned our rented scooty.
The day was a bit tiresome for both of us but also witnessed some natural beauty and historical artifacts and also captured the moments.
After returning the scooty we started for our next destination, Coorg.
So, here we are in Coorg, Scotland of India. Actually, we arrived midnight around 2 pm and checked into our pre-booked resort and slept. In the early morning we woke up and headed towards Mandalpatti by Jeep safari which was arranged from our resort. The roads were very much bumpy and in extremely poor condition but the view throughout the ride was breathtaking. After one hour of adventurous ride we reached Mandalpatti from where we had to trek 10 mins to reach the peak. The view after reaching was really mesmerizing. We both were amazed by the beauty of clouds from 4500 m peak. Finally we witnessed the sunrise above the clouds and it made my day.
After witnessing the stunning view for an hour and clicking pictures, we headed towards our resort again through the bumpy yet fascinating roads. After reaching the resort we got fresh and had breakfast.
After that, we checked out of our resort and rented a scooty for a day drove fast to Dubare Elephant camp where we had to cross one small lake filled with stones to see elephants, their activities, bathing and all.
After spending some time there we drove back to Madekeri and had our best lunch at Coorg Cuisine with Pandi curry and akki roti. The food was delicious and cheap.
After having lunch and some rest, we headed towards Abbey falls which was very much crowded. The waterfall was small but nice for one time visit.
After spending some time at the waterfall we drove back to one of the best places to witness sunset in Coorg, Raja's seat. It's a nature park which also has a gallery from where you can see the beautiful setting sun with the mountains all around.
After the sunset, we returned scooty and had dinner.
Around 9 pm we boarded the Volvo sleeper bus to Bangalore and bid good bye to Coorg and reached next day early morning.
So overall, it was a good 2 day trip from Bangalore at a very reasonable cost of approximate 5550 / head (including everything).
Sometimes, we need such short trips to change the mood and refresh our minds.
